AEM Install - weird readings

I just hooked up the AEM UEGO A/F gauge to my 07 M8. I used the auxiliary wire behind the steering post for power and ground. I ran the wires to the gauge and went to start it. It fires up, but seems like it takes a while to initialize. After it does it thing, it flashes like its reading but doesn't hold a steady reading at idle. It just flashes a reading and then goes blank and does this back and forth.

Any ideas? Is this normal? Suggestions?

Mine does weird things at idle, but once you get going it seems to be fine.

I've been told with a new sensor it sometimes takes a little 10-15 minutes before its consistent? Dont now about that, just what I've been told.

Run it and see what it does.

is the aux power behind the post AC or DC?

I have a 2007 M8

I hooked mine up to the reverse sensor!! Hated the BEEEEEP anyways!! And mine works great!! When i first fire up it has some colours and such then turns right on!! It might be also where you placed your sensor??? I have mine right in my bend before the can! Hope this helps.

Okay, I tapped into the reverse sensor and no power to the gauge or beeper...

Which wire did you tap into? Wouldn't I be getting any noise now either?

Any ideas? I'm stumped and ready to drink myself into a coma...

I used the red/black one for power and grounded to the chassie.. I unhooked my beeper..

Fatsa if you could post a few pics. that would be great. I hook everything back up as normal;l and don't even get a sound.

I am totally lost.

I will try to grab some pics before i go to bed! i just grounded the the bolt on the steering holder. and hooked power to red/black on the beeper.

No i took the beeper out and tossed it in the grarbage!! Just left the other wire hanging. The pics arent the greatest but here ya go. if you look at the wires you will see the red/black plugged in with a red comming out. and the other wire from the beeper right above it. The other shows the ground. If you look at the nut on the left you will see a wire fitting under it.

Thanks!!

I took everything back to stock this am and now have a beeper again, so I know juice is going there.

I will tap it and see if that gauge fires now.
