Advise for riding near Edmonton

My wife and I have to make a trip in late Jan. up to Edmonton from Idaho and wanted to know if it's worth our time to bring our sleds and make a week of it? Is there good riding? Should we rent and leave our sleds here? Is there someone to show us some backcountry? Both are avid riders and would love to ride there if anyone can help us out.

No riding in Edmonton, we are on the bald prairie! If your able to travel 5-6 hours West we have world class mountain riding. We do it on the weekends here all the time, but if your stuck around the city, leave em at home.

go to Calgary instead. 3hrs to either golden(NW) or 3hrs to fernie(sw)
