Advantage to premix oil?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is any advantage to premixing my fuel. Take out my oil res and just running a big jug of gas in my truck bed. what do you think? any pros or cons?

I'm putting 1/2 qrt of oil, [skidoo mineral oil] in a 5 gallon jerry can and filling it up with 5 gallons of fuel. i got 2 5 gallon jug's and a 2.5 for my spare gas on the sled. after every ride all extra gas go's into the sled for the next ride and i fill my two, 5 gallon jugs again.takes the math out of how much gas to oil go's in your sled at the gas station.:face-icon-small-win i'm no math wiz, and there probly isnt a lot with a 40;1 ratio, but this makes it easy.

It saves weight, you KNOW your engine is getting the proper amount of oil, and no darn oil tank to leak!

I hate to see anything drippin out of the bottom of my sled in the garage. It shouldnt happen, unless something is wrong,,,,,,, keep the engine bay clean with the oil bottle delete, minus the belt dust.:face-icon-small-hap

Just started running premix this season. Now that I am used to mixing again, after only one full tank, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Runs great and really doesn't even get any worse of mileage. Running 32:1, but will go to 40:1 from now on I think.

The best reason I can figure to premix is that the very best oils are always recommended for premix only, not for injection.

We now run and recomend Klotz R50 for premix and Klotz techniplate for injection, But the Klotz R50 motors always have less internal wear than any other oil, premix or injection.

Premix is the only way to go. The motor runs so much better.
If your in a bind you can pull up to the pump and just fill your gas tank. Add 3oz to every gallon and let it mix on the drive up to the parking lot.

I love running premix (unless I forget to bring the oil to the gas station...). I run 32:1, but seems like 40 is the most common.

Less weight, and one less mechanical thing on the sled to go wrong (I've had 3 oilers fail), I'm hooked.

Have a 700 polaris and carls 910 on premix doing every thing that Indy Dan said after he did both motors this summer. They both are 04 sleds. Now what to do with the 09 dragon???

Something to maybe consider on an injected motor is the injector doesn't 'know' it is shooting premix so it simply sprays for 'x' amount of time. The oil is taking up a percentage of that volume effectively leaning the fuel. By how much, I have no idea but I would think that a 50-1 mix has 2 percent oil so the way I see it is with that mix the injector is seeing 2 percent less gas to spray. Then there is the possibility that the change in viscosity could cause other issues. I have no answers only speculation that there may be issues with running premix and injection systems.

pull it n block it off or ur defeating some of the purpose plus you've got rotating parts hooked up that are doing nothing. Just something else hanging out that could cause trouble.

oh yeah another thing to consider is that some motors need to have an oil hole drilled in their cases to run premix through the main bearings...800 polaris is one...
