Adjusting rear suspension on Pro

When adjusting the rear shock on the Pro, should the suspension return completely to the top with no weight on it, or fuel in the tank? Mine sags about 3 inches now. Seems a little soft.

Thanks for any input.

Cheers!

My assault sags about 3 inches as well, according to the manual we are mesuring the shock OAL, i would rather mesure the rear bar to ground for proper sag if anyone had a conversion.

The lack of return travel with just sled weight is normal, consult your owners manual it actually does a pretty good job of explaining suspension setup.

Page 48 doesn't answer the question. Just gives the range that you are to adjust the spring too. Never over 11" and never under 9 3/4". That range covers rider weights from 160 to over 300 pounds. The next couple pages give you starting points for your weight.

Sorry!

Normally the owners manual would be the first place i would look. However, it appears mine has taken a "leave of absence" or perhaps gone completely AWOL. So, being the resourceful person that i am, i was hoping a fellow snowester who has recently set their sled up, would give me some info, whether from the manual or from experience.

Thanks again for any input.

I guess what i am looking for is how much should i turn the collar on the rear shock to stiffen the spring and therefore raise the back end up a bit. Is there a measurement recommended? On a dirtbike this is called "free sag". Im sorry i may not have been clear at the beginning.

Ride the sled across along section of bumpy trail if it bottoms out often then tighten the back shock a few turns if it only bottoms once in a while it is probably ok! (personal preference)
