Adjusting for an extra 1/4" belt deflection

I have about 240 miles now on my 09 M8 HCR (it's been a bad winter here :face-icon-small-sad ). On first ride of the season it had a tiny low-end bog. Now its just not good at all. So after a weekend of riding, I got home and properly checked deflection (noting earlier on the trail is seemed awfully slack!) and it is 1 1/2" at least. I know it should be within 1 1/8" and 1 1/4". Apparently this increased deflection may be a result of breaking in the sled.

I checked the shims...I have a 0.03 and a 0.06 in the clutch now. I have a 0.09 in my toolkit. There isn't much room to add shims. If I remove the 0.03, and add the 0.09, the space for shims is maxed out.

To get my deflection reduced by at least 1/4", would the 0.06 and 0.09 combo be enough?

Thanks

Its just a trial and error thing, just add a shim and try it, belt should be above sheaves a little, and you don't want it dragging( squeaking) either, just try it, only takes a minute to try

Look into a belt deflection adjuster. BDX and AMP sell them. Infinite adjustability. About $35.
