Clutching is like a space ship to me, ill get that out there.

With that, any of you recommend a good adjustable clutch weight set?

Suggest against adjustables?

MDS, Team, Belly Buster...all threatically work the same. The angle of the came is different and will make the sled be more reactive on lower, mid, top.

MDS-more mid range torque

Call each and see what works best for your style of riding

been running dalton adjustables for 4 years i love them... takes 2 mins to adjust unlike most kinds where u have to remove them from the clutch

MDS get really awesome reviews. Biggest problem I see with them is they are a little tough to change the weight in but honestly once they are set you don't have to adjust them much. Call steve and he will get you taken care of. Great guy and knows his clutching.

Belly busters are not adjustable just fyi. I went with thunder products heavy hitters. They are all gram weighted and are easy to adjust. You do have to take them out of the clutch to adjust them though. They can be adjusted for each elevation and different snow conditions. Or you can just set them and forget about them as long as you are still pulling 8100-8200 throughout the shifting of the secondary clutch.

MDS all the way

I've been running them and they do pull hard, they do have to be removed to be adjusted, but I have never had to. Steve will set them for you and your good. What I really like is that they do pull hard in the mid range, they are a dual radius heavy heel, they come in light and then just grip n rip, no spinning the track right out of the gate which will bury you in deep snow. When on climbs or in the trees you can get off the gas, pause for a bit choosung your line and then get back on the throttle and get your rpm's back instantly, not many can claim this. I am sure that a lot of peolple are happy with some of the different set ups out there, but MDS all the way for me, I am a customer for life!! Steve is awesome to work with and best part is if you don't like em, he'll give you your money back. I know very few in the biz that will do that. Installation is a snap and very easy. If you go this route and need help with set up, you can message me or I'm sure there are many others on here that will walk you through the install and function of these weights. Happy riding!!

PS

forgot to add, if you talk with Steve ask him about different primary spring, I think he is offering a 100/340, I felt that was to soft for me, I also have a PAR head on, the 120/340 is working great for me. It is a blk/grn stock polaris spring from a few years back, cheaper than going the fancy SLP route, and for those that wonder, I have never broke one on my 12'

Do the MDS wts just bolt right in withOUT having to modify the primary?

If your sled is dialed pretty good with OEM wts, can you leave your secondary alone and just mess with wts and primary spring?

thanks!

YES...no mods

No need to do anything to the secondary, these weights are designed to work with your stock secondary, that's the beauty of it, I have friends and know of others that changed their secondaries with these weights only to change them back, The stock works perfect with this setup. An average of 6-8 more horsepower to the track, your not making more HP, but you are getting that much more of the HP you have to the track. And yes, they bolt right in, 10 min or less and your done. I do recommend the delrin washers in your secondary, and also the SLP Helix shim, it gives the secondary just the tad bit more backshift that the pro lacks for descents...IMO.
