Adding the digital display?

So I just ordered a takeoff digital display from ebay. Comes with the harness to install it, and has 0 miles. Just wondering what all it takes to put in on and have all functions. Is it just plug and play or will I need to take it in and get it all programmed and whatnot?

Install the harness and gauge, then go on riderx.com to register the machine and the gage, you will need the serial number and machine vin. After registering you'll download the to map updates on a usb flash drive and install hem on the gage. If you don't have electric start it's easiest to power the sled through the with gauge power plug on the left side of the sled under the hood by the shock tower as one of the downloads takes 30+'minutes, I just used two pins hooked to a 12v battery. After the install is complete need to intialize the gauge as factory default is for wheeled vehicles. This is done by pressing and holding the initialize button under settings until prompted to marry the gauge to the sled.

I wouldn't waste any money on that IDD they are useless. No fuel gauge. What does it do that the other one doesn't? Bluetooth who talks on the phone while riding? Plan routes with your cell phone, here in Wyoming I'm lucky to have service in town let alone out on the trail. For the guys that like them good I think it is a waste of money and not needed.

If you think that is all they do- Then, I agree it is a waste of your money! These gauges do a lot more than the standard gauge that been out for what since 2008?- Especially the tuning/Clutching screen!!

You must have Union Cellular coverage cause I have no issues living/riding in Wyoming with service.............

The IDD is so awesome! on the surface it doesn't seem any better than a regular gps, but after using it I'll never go back.
Having the map right there in front of you is incredibly handy, has saved our butts trying to get back out of new areas many times.
The screen is also really easy to read when in tach mode which is also a huge plus.

Might want to do a little research bud. I bought a snowcheck in season and it had the IDD on it. Wasn't too excited about it due to the extra cost, but after using it i won't own a sled without it.

No I have Verizon and there is no service from the upper parking lot in Ryan Park or anywhere in the Snowy Range, Union does have service up there. I still say they are a waste of money and yes I have messed with it a bunch. If you like it great I don't.

Might just need a little more practice. It works awesome, makes exploring much easier.

Make sure you got the GPS puck with the kit you bought.
