Accident

Thoughts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are sorry for the families loss. Crowfoot is such a great place for families and happiness, that it's almost unbelievable that such a tragedy could take place. Our thoughts and prayers go to the family.

On another note about saftey, last year my family and I were riding up to the chalet when we had a most disconcerning incident. I stopped at the bottom of the fireguard to let my son on his Phazer go ahead and follow up behind with my wife bringing up the rear. while going up we encountered another group pulled off to the side. We waved, they waved and we continued on. Up a couple of hundred yards my son suddenly reacted tucking down and leaning to the right. As he did this a young man in his twenties, at a high rate of speed jumped over my son and his machine coming down the guard! Missing hitting my son by mere inches! If my son hadn't tucked down, the aforementioned individual would have taken his head off! The rush seeker was performing jumps off of the cross trails while traveling down hill, he wasn't even wearing a helmet. My wife wouldn't let me go and talk to the individual, stateing that no good would come of that. My son was obviously very shaken and distraught by the incident, so we continued on to the chalet to calm down. While we were up there the group also arrived at the chalet, knowing I was extremely P----- at them, a spokesmen for the group appologized. This was appreciated however the wanton recklessness of the group could have been fatal. My point being if you are prone to pulling brainless and uncontrolled stunts in public area's, find another hobby that dosen't effect others! Where were the spotters? Any how I hope that this year as we will be there shortly goes without this kind of trouble. Happy sledding.

Yup....you never know what is coming the other way. I don't let me son ride in front of me and I always check around corners and stand up when coming over a rise. Scary to think of what could happen.
