AC spring 0704-936?

What sled is this spring supposed to be for?

Dealer told me it was what I needed for my 09 CF8SP to beef up the front skid shock. The stocker was a 100# wuss spring and the skid was slamming into my tunnel really hard when bottoming.

Got the spring and installed today, but it has a locating dowel on the end and my other one didn't and it's an inch shorter than the stock one so I can only use about half the threads on the adjustment.

Is this spring correct for this sled?

AC Parts catalogue says that's the spring for the '03 - '06 Firecat Sno Pro models with 500 cc to 700 cc engines. I'm guessing that doesn't help much.

You may not need all the adjustment.
If you don't get a good answer on here, just call a different dealer and see if they give you the same part number.

That's what I run. It is a #170 spring and works great! grind the dowel off and than just tighten it a little past loose. Stock is way to wimpy and I am only 195lbs. You are right, it is shorter but is stiffer metal.

I just flipped it so the dowel is up top and fits in that notch on the retaining collar.
At first I just snugged it up then gave it a couple more turns. Snow was pretty hard yesterday so by the end of the day I had used all the pre-load available and still would like a bit more. I weigh 235.
