The state sales tax has no reason to change. British Columbia has two sales taxes, GST, and PST.
The federal sales tax would be 23% and your state's would stay at 6%, so you would pay 29%. It may sound scary at first, but read a little more about it. You will pay significantly less overall tax than you do today.
I pay federal income tax and state income tax as well as state sales tax. This is where some of our funding for road improvements and education come from. I also pay property tax, what about this? What about the lost revenue of state income tax is the point I am trying to understand.
