The question was if anyone knew anything about this sled. I rode Cottonwood last weekend and there was a 440 Bearcat on the west side of the pass, still buried in snow at the base of the steep hill, where it has been since I was last there in February. There is a number on the hood, which makes me think it belongs to the rental outfit that has tours up there. I didn't see any obvious pieces missing, but I didn't open the hood to confirm.
The snow at the unloading area was about 200 yards west of the gate across the road. For those of you wondering about this abandoned machine, you would have also gotten a kick out of the 4WD VW camper van that was stuck (and abandoned) in the middle of the road about 50 yards from the edge of the snow. No vandalism to be seen, but a trail of rocks and tree limbs where the owner looks like he spent the better part of the day jacking it up and trying to get it out. Looked like it had been there a week or two.
