A little metal, for the night owls.

Meshuggah is awesome too. kinda weird at first cause of their weird time signatures and stuff but still badass!
dillinger escape plan is pretty unique but awesome too.
then of course my fav band megadeth, other thrash bands like slayer, sepultura, sodom, kreator and testament are always good too :D

Never would have guessed your favorite band would be Megadeth....:D:beer; Thrash rules, keep it heavy my friend! \m/

haha i didnt have high expectations after your description but it was pretty cool.

Yea, they are a really neat band, they mix so many different genres its awesome. But mostly, they are folk metal.

I'm not a big tech death fan either. If its death, its melo death for me. I love the guttural vocals that are actually understandable, the melodic riffs, and the double bass (not a blast beat).

I wish there was a band that would be similar to Opeth when it's the heavy, growling parts. I still love Opeth, but having them heavy 100% of the time would be awesome.

Bloodbath with akerfeldt on vocals is one of my favs too.

ya i have that album, versus the world, and fate of norns by amon amarth. I like them every once in a while but I think lots of their music sounds very similar.

Between One Sent from the Golden Hall, and With Oden on Our Side, they sounded like one freakin album. It was pathetic how similar the albums in the middle sounded.

But, WOoOS was the breaking point, and now Twilight of the Thunder God (their new one) is even better. Now, every song is quite a bit different, and Johan's vocals have intense emotion in them, unlike in their blah albums where it was...he's growling...but so what?...now, he has a profound emotional vocal that is great.

Here's an example form Twilight.

sounds better/different from that song. ill probably grab that album now haha among everything else i want

Haha, thought I'd let this one die?

I'm going to the Pagan Knights tour in Minneapolis on Thursday at Station 4.

This band will be playing, they are a Viking/prog/power band. The viking part is in the vocals, its all about battles, exploring, norse mythology, and actually, loneliness at sea in some of their later songs.

Here is "Dreams" Its about a child in a Viking village growing up to be what he is destined to be by hearing all the folk tales passed down from his parents and grand parents.

Great vocal performance, and a decent guitar throughout.
