A-arms 2013?

Anyone who have a opinion about the -13 lower a-arm?
Are they any stronger then the previous ones or should I spend money on a aftermarket kit like zbroz?

Z-Broz 36" are 2#'s 12.9 oz lighter and stronger than the stockers and use the same shock lenght. The Z-Broz in the 39" width are close to stock weight and you can keep the sway bar if desired. I'd go with the Z-Broz myself. Hope that helps.

My $.02

I have trashed three A-arms in my life. If I had after market A-arms on my sled then, they would have just ended up being expensive junk thrown in the dumpster just the same as my stock A-arms. Rocks don't care what kind of A-arms you have.:face-icon-small-ton
I'll stay with stock. At least the dealers out west where we ride have them in stock. $.02:face-icon-small-coo

After trashing arm after arm, I started selling the stock junk as soon as I buy a sled and Put Zbroz on my sleds, haven't had to pay for another A arm since. Money well spent, especially with what you can sell a new take off set for!

I would consider Zbroz 36 inch kit and sell your stockers for a premium while they are new. That is what we did with all our 2013 arms

As expensive as the aftermarket arms are they are still far cheaper to buy than a full set of stockers. If you should ever bend one up, pretty unlikely, good dealers like Boston Racing will break up sets and sell you the one you need. (Hope I spoke correctly of your service Boston, that was the feeling I have gotten from your posts).

Those weights have changed a LOT over the initial 38.5" kit offered last year by Zbroz. It would be great to see them all weighed out on the same scale for a semi-factual comparison of the new 2013 products.

Ah Ha! See Rick5150's post...

A guy who rode them most of last season said the lower 13 arm is very much stronger and that the upper arm may be the new weakpoint.

Considering the new lowers have are glued into a forged aluminum piece I would say they are stronger if they used the exact same tube. The old arms will have more stress concentrations due to the welded joint vs the glued joint. Plus, the new arms have a bit more clearance so that will slightly help avoiding land mines.

The new bottom a arms are much stronger then years past. Using the bonding agent alows for more structural integrity over welded joints. Also having no cross bar in the middle of the arm helps with strength too. Where that middle cross bar is there are two welded points on both sides. In my experience in changing out at least a dozen a arms on pro's last season, the back side of the arm folds at this cross bar. That is the weakest link of the a arm. In the 4-500 miles i logged on a '13 last year i never bent an a arm and we all know how crappy the snow was last year. I hit more then my fare share of stumps and rocks. Like noted above the weak link now is the top a arm. The lower is so strong it will break or bend the threaded ball joint on top a arm that bolts to the top of the spindle. They talked about beefing this joint up end of last season but not 100% sure if they did. Either way if you are in the market for aftermarket you cant go wrong with Zbros. The new arms are way tough but there still stock:face-icon-small-win

Thanks for all the input.
Since the -13 Pro RMK not even has arrived here to Sweden and the real riding season is at least 2 months away I will lie low in my decision.
Hopefully you guys have the chance to ride your sleds a little bit earlier and share your impressions.
Any recommendatios where to buy zbroz? Sled solutions seems to have a pretty nice price and also not that bad shipping cost.
