Springs on my 9R Khoas are different than those on '23 850 Khaos
Whats the reasoning here? Suspension is already way too soft

That's funny.
Ur 9R looks like the same springs as the 800. Maybe the 9r is the same weight as the 800? It doesn't make sense to me to change springs for a 10-15lb difference in gross weight. Riders weight varies 10x that amount and 180lb rider and 210lb ride can use the same springs. A 300lb rider needs different springs and valving.

My 2019 RMK had the light weight springs, My 2021 Khaos had the heavy springs and my 2023 Khaos 850 also the heavy springs. When I say heavy I don't mean stiff springs, only the older technology standard steel springs. Something I thought about was that the Khaos also has the aluminum overstructure so maybe they are made for much more abuse than the Pro RMK? Do the old school heavy steel springs take big hits better without deforming or losing their springiness?

I'm pretty sure that Polaris kept this quiet but they appear to have moved away from the super duper special ultra-lightweight "SLR" springs after the first year because it turns out if you put any preload on them they start to warp into a U shape and cause all kinds of problems like rubbing on the shock body and destroying the threads and rubbing on the A-arms. I know this from personal experience on three different sleds.

That being said the one on the right looks like an SLR spring so maybe they are trying them again, or had some left over they wanted to use up?

I am wondering if one of those sleds is a Pro RMK and the other a Khaos? It appears they both have low and high speed compression adjustment so that says Khaos on both??

Probably just ran out of the LW springs and didn’t want that to (further) hold up the show. I’d be happy enough with the “heavy” springs for reasons mentioned above

As far as I can tell, I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to it, just has to do with supply. I’ve had several Khaos and Pro’s since the velocity came out and it’s been a random mix of the SLS coil and the thicker gauge coil. They are both sprung the same. The SLS coil just saves a little weight. So if it’s too soft, you just need a heavier # coil.
