97 mountain max oil useage

Does anybody know how to adjust the oil useage for a 97 mountain max??? It seams running at 16:1 at the moment..

Check to see if the oil cable became unseated from the housing. It will run full open if that happened.

I am not sure on the ratio but on a 60-70 mile ride a go through about a quart of oil.
