my bro`s and i watched this pack of guys shoot this slope at pomerelle for about 20 min . after seeing this guy auger it in three times (not getting much further with each try )
charlie said I`m gonna see how my wifes sled stacks up against a new rev on the steep !
so we dropped down to go see .
I didnt even think that a 230 lb+ crazy MOFO on a 97 600 powder special with a 136 would shoot right past a smaller guy on a new-ish-er (2010) 800 summit with a 151 and such a high price tag .
Yeah, fun stories....but I can assure you there are a lot more variables involved than just a straight 'I went higher.' I have been highmarked on while riding a supercharged Apex. Has to do with lines, lines, lines. But like I said, makes for fun stories
btw I was kinda freaking out that two were up there at the same time...STAY SAFE PLEASE! Way too many people got buried this year...
SLOPE WAS SAFE !
I wasnt lookin to digging out my bro ! ( it had slid from the top a week before we got the 6 or so inches we were riding on) .
Lines make all the diff. , BUT no matter what lines were picked that day on that slope , were as even as they ever could be . (
we ride there all the time.
WE study the slopes and slide paths BEFORE we rip it up .
Many factors for sure....maybe the ac pulled a plug wire off the Rev? lol. Not the same line on the hill either, hard to tell in the video but the AC was sniffin tracks - was the Rev?
Depends on the rider, if the guy on the rev had the balls to pull full throttle it would be different. In the real world even a 600 xp will annihilate the P S (stands for Piece of Shyt) LOL
But I still believe it, I have embarassed turbo sleds on a piped m1000, I was turning 50mph track speed they where turning 80mph track speed and all it did was trench 6' deep and turn out, I trenched about 1.5' and went out the top of chutes. It was all about the track and skid setup that day.
Not to mention that AC didn't make a 600 until 1998, they were 580s in 96 and 97. lol
The ol 96 was a GREAT machine...in it;s day. Was the first machine I owned, and I went a lot of places wth it that many thoght weren't possible, BUT, any 600 of the day would walk all over it. It weighed in at 580 pounds dry, and was only puttng out 97 HP!!! lol
