93 formula 470 mxz engine questions

I just bought this sled and need to change a cooling hose. My first question is what is the proper air bleeding procedure. Second is can I save any weight by gutting out my exhaust can, and will doing so alter engine tuning? Thanks for your responses.

i use a floor jack and jack the front end up as high as it goes and start it up. skidoo always has done a pretty good job with its stock exhaust I wouldnt mess with it to save a little weight
