900 scratchers?

I called SLP and they said that scratchers won't work on my 900
do to it being a 121 track, no where to install them.
Could this be?

Most places want you to remove a set of boogie wheels to install them.

There are types allowing you to keep the wheels on and still have the scratchers. You could drill a hole on the rail for them.

Search the forum here ... ? I know there are pics of mods specific to your needs.

X2

You can remove a set of Boogies, drill a small hole for the spring hook and install them there, or you can drill 2 holes (see photo) and install them anywhere if you dont want to remove your boogies
I have a 159 and I took all my boogies out, so the boogies aren't really a issue. Mine was first installed just infront of a set of inside rail boogies, you can see the 2 boogie mounting holes just behind the red main mounting bolt.

1ea. 3/8" hole for the main mounting bolt, 1ea. 3/16" hole (just forward of main hole, you'll need to measure) for spring catch tab

You are correct.....you may find a place to fit them on a 121" skid but it would be tight. The post above is on a 159 and are actually my scratchers. I have had quite a few guys who buy my scratchers mount them on the skis.

Here is a picture.....hope it helps!

You can use an extra long bolt and mount them to the spindle and hang them on the ski when they are not in use.

I like that, but... will mounting them up on the skis do anything for getting snow to the heat exchanger on the rear of the tunnel or is the ski mount primarily just for Hyfax wear?

BTW, That's a wicked looking A-arm, spindle, ski combination. Looks schweeeeet! :beer; :D

You will still get a significant amount of "spray". At any speed beyond 10 miles an hour you should get enough spray from the scratchers to throw snow onto the lugs of the track which will then send it onto your heat exchangers. No matter what your ski stance (unless you are riding a snow hawk) the inside of the ski is still on the outside of the track.

BTW....the sled in the picture is a customers sled so I cannot take the credit for the spindles! :beer;

Mount them on the skis you can use long or short, whatever looks best to you.
Should drop temps and help hifax wear.

Interesting. What you says does make sense, but I'm a bit skeptical, anyone else tried this on the skis vs the rail.

I know that on the rail you get lot of "splash", but the majority of it goes outside the tunnel...as seen by my goggle splatter following my buddy too closely. LOL
I am w/out a radiator and I have to use my scratchers a lot on the trail. Mounted on the rails, my temp drops from 150-155 to 125-127 within a matter of a minute or so when I put them down. I'd also be interested if anyone who has them on the skis has ever had them catch on anything while being stored on side of ski, (on rails they are inside the track footprint)
