allright well i got my engine all back together alomost ready to be fired up, but what is the procedure to brake it in? how long till im able to ride it? lol ive been waiting so long. :D

This is a tough one.. Everyone will have their own opinion and advise.. some will say heat cycle.. some will say just run it like normal.. You will have to pick and choose which procedure you follow..:D

start it, let it warm up, then shut it off and let it cool all the way down. Do that 5 times then ride the god out of it.

Put some oil in the fuel ( pre mix ) about half a quart in a full tank and heat cycle as suggested above . Its worth the extra time IMO and gives you adequate time to vent the air from the coolant.after that make sure its warm befrore riding and enjoy!

yep heat cycle it a few times the ride it like you stole it. make sure to put about a pint of oil in the first tank of gas. also check your clutch torque after a couple heat cycles and after the first ride. the clutch seats in and the torque drops i had to retorque mine 3 or for time before it held.

And once it's broken in, heat soak it every time you ride.
Glad to hear she's almost ready to go triple650!

Allright thanks alot guys! should be able to ride it then today lol. ill let you guys know how it go's. :D

Its alive, its alive!!!

lol yes i got it started finaly get to here that baby run. started on the 3rd pull yes indeed. lol so i started it ran a little funny, which is understandable the fuel filter needs to fill up plus the crankcase has a oil in it and stuff. it stalled then i pulled once more and it ran awsum, let it warm up to 120 then shut it off, ill go back later tonight and start it again and maybe later do it again. so hopefully tomorow i can drive it. Im am very releived it started as this is the first engine i rebuild.

But i have one question, is it ok if there is a bubble in the oil line? we bled the lines till there was no bubbles out of the bleed screw but today i noticed there is one 3/4" long but i dont know if it ran through the pump or not, it has a new oil filter. is there any danger to this?

but it seems ok, and thanks alot to you guys this is a really great place for info! :D:beer;
