87 Phazer needs more track!

Earlier this year I picked up an 87 Phazer for my kid to rip around on. The price was right and the machine is like the day it left the factory.

The sled runs like a top, but the 116" track sucks bad with it's non existent lug.

What are my options to get a better track under this thing? 121 or 136 would be fine. He seems to get stuck every damn time he goes out. LOL

Thanks in advance.

I built this old 95 phazer up. Had a 121 before, I made a rail extension and found an old mountain lite track 136 x 1.25 to put on. These sleds were notorious for running board sag I built some edges out of 3/4" pipe. Made a slit the full length of the pipe with a table saw and slid them down the old running board. I then tied them into the tunnel extension I built. The stiffeners made a world of difference and the jump from a 121 to a 136 was nice. Tons of flotation on top of the snow. I ended up getting a 136 X 2 track from an RMK. I began cutting it down to 1.5 but someone made an offer on the sled so out she went! Not sure if you are interested, but I would give you the track for practically nothing if you'd like. PM if you are interested.

iv done them in 121 and 133 1" block tracks. 121 was way easier considering you dont have to modify the tunnle and rear built in bumper assembly. just hammer the flap mount back. performance wise the 133 maybe a little more forgiving for slow riders but point them at the hill and they both marked about the same. reason being track speed. not much gain in putting huge tracks on these imo, slows them down, but again if youre a slow rider then...

Phazer

The 1.1875" full bock 121 with the skid moved back 2.5" and down 1.5" at the rear and .65" at the front mount works great for very little money - no changes to drivers or tunnel. Put a stiffener behind the snow flap is all. Gear down to 16/35 and let er rip!
