FYI
The 850's have a different tether connection.
This is the connector on the chassis harness:

Unless you buy a Polaris tether, you're going to need the DT04-2P with wedge and 2 pins.

Edit- Has anyone varified that is the correct connector needed?
Found them for $2.51 shipped on eBay. Cheaper to buy the set then just the male.

Not positive, but going to guess these are cheap off-shore knock-offs, and not genuine TE Deutsch connectors. A lot of the cheapos out there on Ebay and even Amazon. They will probably work, but not the same quality as genuine TE and my corrode over time or have some fitment issues. Given that they ship from China, and there is more emphasis on the PN than the brand, I would suspect they are fakes.
Just curious, has anyone wired up a Pro Armor tether with the new connectors?
My 850 came with a empty sealed Deutsch connector already plugged into the tether plug, so all that's needed to to convert your 800 tether over is just the 2 pins.
I cut the old end off my Pro Armor tether, soldered/crimped on 2 new pins and installed them into the connector that came with the sled. I have tested it and it works like a charm. Only cost $2, could be done even cheaper if you can find just the pins.
But you will also need a special crimper to pinch wires onto pins.
What is the cost of a Pro Armor tether?
And whats everyones opinion of the Pro Armor tether??
Up until now, the pro-armor / pro-design was the best tether available. But needed consistent cleaning of the contacts because they would corrode from water intrusion. Disassemble the tether, clean the contact and reassemble, takes 15 minutes. This has been commonplace in my sledding group for years. Not a huge deal, but just putting the information out there for people making a decision on what tether to purchase. I am excited to use a fully sealed tether with no moving parts! Good job Arctic Cat.
