Whether it was my 800 twin ,or my RT 1000 the recomended prob location was 6 inches from the piston skirt. I would think a tripple would be any different.

for a triple y pipe into a single or for triple pipes? Triple pipes, 6" from the exhaust face of the piston, for the single pipe, as close to the junction of the y-pipe as possible.
Triple pipes. Previous owner had clamp on probe holders and I'm putting weld on ones. The current holes measure at just about 6 1/2". Just wanted to check before welding.
