800ves Performance Edition Package

Anyone have dyno numbers for the 800 performance edition package from slp? Stuck in Afghanistan right now and wanna get parts ordered so when i come home i can piece it all together.

I don't have dyno numbers, but my best bud took a stocker 04 800 VES and got the performance package last year, went from back of the pack to stomping almost everyone. Clutching was spot on to

Per SLP; 105lb/ft @ 7,800 RPM and 159 HP @ 8,000 - 8,150 RPM with an SLP single pipe. More with twins.

A very reliable and strong setup, in my experience.

Good to know, prolly lookin for more than that tho, I'm a big guy, 6'4" and 260 lbs so i need some serious horsepower. Thinkin about stuffin a 1200 wc under the hood to haul my big a** around. Kinda want one already built tho, I dont get back from my tour until febuary so i kinda wanna have something to just drop in and ride due to my short season. There isnt very much snow in Afghanistan hahaha.

I've built several of these, they made 158 to 161 hp.

I have also played with stock ported, slp non perf single.

The difference between the 2 setups is in the midrange, 20 - 90 mph, the perf setup will pull 3-4 sleds on the non ported engine.

Top end is the same, then again I run team clutches, ( for reverse ) and teams pretty much suck.

You would love the 1200 wc but they cost a bit to assemble and theres work that needs done to the chassis as well(i have one)

So i've heard. would the 1200 be practical for trail riding? Dont have too many mountains in South East Mn where the elevation is around 1500 feet or lower. We have one of the biggest lakes on the mississippi river around here so i want to be able to absolutly rocket across the lake, but still have it mild enough to navigate thru twisty woods trails.

Now would you go in to detail why you think the team clutch sucks ?

I think it would be much more fun than a 800 (my opinion) You only have to go as fast your pull on the throttle. Obviously you would need to set it up for your area but that should not be to hard.I'm thinking about building a shorter track version my self. Oh since it's a wc motor as long as you do not port the track there very fast on the h2o as well.I sincerely hope all is well for you over there.I guess in all fairness i did have a carls cycle Case and cylinder ported 800 and it ripped very good and was pretty dependable,But nothing like the 1200, currently i weigh 230
