so what is the recall going to do other than make lot more reliable. Is the power going to stay the same or less .

The information I got from SLP is if you are running there performance pkge.

Which has there porting , milled head(old head) ,y-pipe mod, airbox mod and there re-flash .

Do not use the new head from the upgrade kit, but use the new double ring pistons only.
The new head will not perform well with there porting , compression is not matched to there porting.
I'm running the slp performance pkge and my 800 Dragon is aready done this way
Running the new dbl. ringers in the original milled head.

I hope they gave me the correct information.

I was told the new head will work great for all turbo's though.

The new head should work good w/ a turbo. Turbos like low compression, good point.

how come slp sells a 08/09 pipe and a 2010 pipe can we still run the 08 pipe with the recall

As I understood it, all 08-10 sleds w/ pipes will need the SLP head. The main reason for the SLP head is the fact that the new recall 2010 head is lower compression, and this low compression and twin pipes make for a $hitty bottom end. The twins suffer from a dismal low end in the first place. I did not ask about the single pipe setup. I would think that it would work with the 2010 head but, Im an electrician, not a mechanic. Somebody made the point that the higher compression would help out in high altitude situations, this makes sense to me regardless of twin or single pipes. New pistons, here we go with another tank of premix. It seems like about every third tank of gas I was running a break in mix for pistons. Heres to a new season (and new pistons)
