800 vs 800HO bottom end

Can anyone verify whether or not the 800 non-HO and the 800HO have the same crankcase and/or crankshaft? I'm looking for 800HO parts and have a fella trying to sell me non-HO cases. I can't seem to find part numbers for just the case halves...only for complete assemblies.

i think the bottom ends are the same, i think the difference is in the jugs, i had a buddy with an 02 800 non HO, and put 04 HO jugs on it.

No they are not the same. If you looked at them side by side they look the same on the outside, not so much on the inside. Friend has a non HO and the 04 HO would not work for his repair.

I thought the H.O.s had higher compression and different jugs(better porting).

Cases might be the same, but more likely not. I would stay away.
