800 Idle issues rktek head

My idle will hang at 4000 and then slowly go down gets worse at low elevation I have read this is a lean condition. Which way do I go with the White plastic air screws They were at 1.5 turns out so I turned them In to just over one turn I think I should be going the other way to richen??? Just installed the rktek head 14-1 I ride at 3000 -8000 ft have v force reeds and pod filters, boots are new so that isnt an issue. main jet is 400 needle on 3 postion, pilot is stock 17.5.Anyone have this head with different jetting combo?? 400 is stock main jet rktek claims you can jet down almost 4-5 sizes plugs are rust color not black nor like cardboard color.Any help would be appreciated

Follow Kelsey's directions. I ran his head and it is correct you need to jet down to 360's or 350's to get it right. I would think about raising the needle one clip position to safe-en the midrange. Your sled will run hottest at the 6000 to 6500 rpm range. I would be somewhat concerned with running that 14:1 head at 3000 feet, unless you are going to mix race fuel.

As far as the idle you might need to switch pilot jets, 17.5's.

I would star by turning out your fuel screws (white knobs) 1/2 turn or more if necessary.....this takes care of the hanging (lean) idle most of the time....go up in pilot jets if it doesn't.

.

mine was doing the same thing today for the first time in a few years. was really cold, and we started off at lower than normal elevation. in the alpine it was fine. its just your dpm telling the engine it needs for fuel in a lean condition.

that said, your jetting and settings may need some minor adjustment. you dont want it too rich though, will burn too much fuel that isnt needed.
