Has anybody done this or heard good about it? Talked to a guy that said the 04-05 800 HO pipe on the new 800r motor really helps out that motor?

Well it was a guy a the Laramie Ski doo shop that told me that....I just never heard of it.

I put a 07 800r pipe on an 06 800X and it ran exactly the same. I would sure think that would work the other way also.
The R motor pushes more volume than the HO motor, a long enough pull will probably blow the motor.

just read something turboal posted and I wonder if above 7,000' if it would work since your basically running a 600 at that elevation.

took a 07 rev pipe and removed the inner tube that they put in the 07 , ended up choking down the exit to the same id as the 04 to 06 had and it runs the same as they did.
over 5000 ft you would have no problems with a 06 pipe on the 07 but not any lower in elevation to feel safe about it.
main pipe bodies are exactly the same
inner tube used on the r motor is 15 inches long and the id is 47mm
reason being the length of the tube adds to back pressure so a larger inner id is needed on the pipe to get the correct back pressure on the pipe.
cpi outlet is for the r motor is 42mm
aaen out let id for r motor is 43mm
dyna port inner id is 43 .. for r motor
none of these use inner extraction tubes
reason ski doo does it is for the quieter sound
this comes from taking the sound were the sound wave is big and they get only a part of it so it makes a lot less noise
compared to the extraction of it at the end were it is condensed .
cool trick but has been out there for a long time.
if you need a pipe you will find the after market cheaper than the stock pipe

SLP for 08-09 R motor is 42mm
I know Dyno Port makes a high Alt pipe. Would the stinger ID size happen to be 42mm?
