800 E-Tech. It's here!! Pictures and video

I stole this from johndee.com but here it is boys. They will have them at Eagle river to demo!!!

I received a call yesterday morning to take out the guys from Ski-Doo to break in the new 800 E-Tec demo fleet, so I grabbed my gear and headed over to Trackside to rack up about 200 mile on them. WOW... I was totally impressed with the sled and the new motor. The BRP boys were a blast to hang out with on our ride. We encountered just about every trail condition you can have from crap to pristine... with most being really decent. Big thanks to the boys from BRP and to Trackside for letting me ride yesterday. Rode Eagle River, Conover, Phelps, LandO, Boulder

If you get a chance to demo one of the new 800 E-Tecs do it.. you won't be disappointed.
Trackside having Demos this weekend.. Friday & Saturday.

Heres a short video and pics of yesterdays trails..
WE RIDE!!!

Don't tell me nobody had a video camera, I was hoping for some video of you guys actually riding. Get back on that thing and video the E-Tec in action, good excuse to put on another 200 miles.:D Let us know when you get back with some footage, thanks.

X2!!! Bummer!

Blu Du - so what the big f'ing deal besides it uses less gas and oil. it's not easier to turbo and has about the same hp.

well, to a lot of trail riders (which is the majority of sled owners) who put on several thousand miles a year riding boring and uneventful trails, its a pretty big deal for them. but for the average guy who rides in the mountain, this really isnt that impressive, because last time i checked i give no fukk what my gas mileage is or oil comsumption.

Yeah, I like running 17:1 and blowing through 10 gallons of sythetic oil each season at $35 per gallon. Also, I prefer my oil injector just to ooze the oil through a small hole in the crank case and hope it lubricates the bearings. Also, I really think that heavy throttle pull on my 800r is great cause at the end of the day my hands are cramped up. Plus, when you roll your sled over you get to pull it a bunch of times to try to clear the carbs which is a good work out. I also think it is nice to get 45-50 miles of hard riding before you run out of gas...any longer than that and you'd just hurt yourself.

The new etec is lame cause it direct injects oil into the crank bearings, separately injects the fuel directly in the combustion chamber, and thus burns almost no oil which would only give the greenies what they want. Plus getting 55-60 miles of hard mountain riding before running out would be lame.

What a bunch of ****in idgits!

Don't worry...I'm sure the turbo guys won't bat an eye at throwing one on it.

Put it in a Mt sled. Most of us could care less about trail sleds. But it will be easier to boost than the carb Doos.

well said

yeah, great on gas and oil, and after 20,000 miles you'll make up the extra $1500 you paid for an etec over a carb.

why i bought the 500ss over the 600 etec. In a few years when they've ironed out the bugs and simmered down on price, i'll buy one.

well im certain that you won;t find any stock 800s stand a snowballs chance in hell of accelerating like a direct injection will..it not just about milage etc...its just excellant efficiency and done the way it should be done..

lmfao :d

welcome to the 21st century skidoo!!! thank god no more carbs to have to clean and screw with every season...

completely bogus!!!! maybe in a year or two the DI motors will be as quick. Ask any of the peeps that ride the 600 etec. the throttle response is not as fast as what the regular efi or carb motors are. And I realize the difference is slight but it is a difference.

know friends that didn't go etec because of that reason..DI is just quicker I guess..
