800 chalenge, not right to me

ps- coldfinger i do read ALL snowmobile mag for 7 years now... dont count my 12 post( on a mtn sled. i smoke you, any where anytime) so get prepared and rejeted your 1998 summit...lol ;)

LMAO!!!!!

are you sponshured?????? if not, with your advanced riding skills, you should be!!!! You must be really really really good because you said so.

Didn't you read his first post, seems like somebody is jumping on snowest for posting their opinion. I don't see how its any different.
It really doesn't matter, cat took themselves out of the competition for next year by building a HO 800 that will make the 09 800's look silly.

The difference is that the morons at snowest get paid to do it & their "opinion" is considered a test result not really an opinion.

I'd like to see each sled with $1000-2500 in mods & test them again.
I don't know anyone that rides a stock sled (seriously, I've NEVER ridden with a stock sled in the crew)
For me it's all about the potential of the sled to be what I want it to be. The tests by biased *** snowest are useless to me & are just an excuse for them to sell a bit more ad space.

I'm a cat fan, but we'll see on that new 800, I think (fingers crossed that I'm wrong) that the new M8 motor is gonna be just like an XP motor in reliability. They'd have a lot of work to do making it as poorly designed internally, but they seem to be trying!!!

i agree with this guy... Mods are what matters, and that too me is where cat comes in as number one.. (besides yamma ofcourse) My cat was soo much faster than the doo,but man the doo is light and dominates when its deep and i have to leave the motor stock expect top fix doos shotty clutching. I like the XP if they would put the metal back in the bulkhead, running board braces and DJ clutch kit, you got a sled that with proper skid adjustment (aftermarket) it SHOULDNT be touched. If you let a less horspower, skinnier track, heavier sled pass you, then you got a problem, start moddin!!! haha

Why do mods matter so much, 90% of the guys that buy the mods can't tune them, thus making the sled run worse. Your pipe adds 16 hp, but you left the stock clutching with inproper belt deflection, and no fuel adjustments. Sled sounds great but????

i think its funny how everyone got their panties in a bundle because someguy put an opinion, being right or wrong its an opinion. its just snowest's review of the sleds, which is just another bunch of opinions. i personally likehow a doo rides, but many disagree and thats fine. who careswhat someone else says, bring it to the hill and find out. and as far mod potential it goes to cat hands down.

Who puts a pipe on and doesnt use the clutching it comes with?? you? haha, Snowest is the alternate place to take peoples opinions and rip them to shreds cuz the masses dont agree. Thats all it is Constructionlake, good good fun. Or one of the "popular guys" gets on and everyone jumps their nuts and their opinion doesnt get bickered at! Its the internet, everyones just burning time thats not being spent riding, i know i havent gone enough this year.

I have been subscribing to SnoWest mag for many years now and will continue to do so. I don't know about anyone else, but some of the writing in the articles is frustrating to me. IMO the style of writing is, for lack of a better explanation, goofy. Just don't care for the over-exaggeration of clever catch phrases in an effort to sound hip or in touch.
Something else I have noticed, is that the opinions are often times contradicting even within the same paragraphs; almost as if they are trying too hard to keep from offending any of their advertisers. That sometimes has me wondering how objective they really are.

Mod It!!!!

So lets spend $11,000 on a brand new machine and an additional $1,000 on mods to void the factory warranty?? Sounds like money well pi***d away to me!!! Don't F*** with it just ride it. Just my Opinion!!!

And Bently you have no clue what good writing is, do you??? JMO!!!!!!

my shop did the mods and the warranty is still good.
lighter more power.
you leave yours stock ill ride mine how it is.
warranty should still be good with just pipes and minor stuff but depends on shop
just my opinion

I'm happy, I just bought an XP!!! LOL I guess I made the right choice.

AND.....It is completely stock, runs good, probably the best out of the box sled Doo has ever made(I had a 98X, it was good, but ride and clutching sucked.)

Seriously, I bought this sled for the wife, I knew it was a good mountain sled, and in addition probably the best mountain/trail sled!!!! I enjoy riding it on the rough trails(lets face it, we all have to ride trails to get to where we really want to be).

I would like to get a 09 M sled, I really like them to. As has been stated, I think they all make a pretty good sled...EXCEPT reliability. (Yamaha excluded)

After spending $10000+ on a sled you should not have any issues with it for at least 3-4 years, but it sure seems like there are a lot of new sleds, with less than 1500 miles, that have to have something fixed on them.

JMO

In the grand scheme of things who cares what brand someone is riding as long as they are able to get out and enjoy the sport.I've listened to the my brand is better than yours for a long long time and I think I've heard enough. They are all compatable on the hill so pick what indavidual features you like and a dealer that will treat you the best and go have fun.:)
