800 billit heads for 800r and 800 ho

what kind of jetting does this require? are your domes knurled ?can i run pump gas with a 13.5-1 head? and would this head be applicable from 2-8000 ft?what might i expect for gains from this head and does it compare with everybody elses.does your head have any advantages?

One of these days Ted i'll have to slide by and get one of these bad boys. They look killer with your logo and all. We'll have to go for another rip this spring or sometime.

sorry hardcorex I'm not a snowest hore! I get on when I'm tired of porting! or need a break for a second.
the domes are NOT knurled, they are smooth. knurled was experimented years ago on low revving watercrafts and might be good for a moped.
jetting can be kept same as stock or a bit leaner, you can run a 13.5-1 head mildly to get up the trail from 2000' and up(as we do with 14-1 heads) but I would n't recommend wide open throttle at 2000', until 5000' for longer periods of time. it will run great up to 8000', remember the stock head is 12.1-1 comp ratio, pretty low, good for mxz. at sea level.
good gains in the mid range pull and acceleration, easily pulls a stocker, have had only good comments back from customers that have them. with proper squish clearance, squish angle, squish band width and dome design it has the advantage.
lately I've seen alot of poor bigbores or attempts at bigbores come in the shop for repair.

it is a rough textured finish. Like some motorcycle or bicyle foot pegs.
For pegs it is done to make the surface rougher and give more grip.
On a head it would be done to create more surface area and there for supposubly cool better.
I know a guy that has ben in to performance stuff for a long time and claims a stock head with billet inserts in it would cool better then a all billet head because the cast head will have more surface area. Billet head is stronger and would be better for strength in big cc high compression engines. He owns a machine shop and makes billet heads for a performance shop.

cooling, I wouldn't say a billit head won't cool as good as a stock style cast head.
the fact is that some co's will build a head (billit) and make large areas for coolant, having a larger coolant volume in the head, some would think this is good but actually the large coolant pockets are slower flowing coolant which gives the domes a chance to heat up more and cause deto.
so a billit head with smaller pockets of coolant around the dome flows faster more velocity and pulls the heat away from the dome better.
