And you pay how much road tax while on your mission of public necessity? I drive over there too, and the trucks are the ones I worry the least about, it is those who have "absolute rights" that usually cause the problems by cutting in and out and exhibiting "attitude." I am withh you, you don't need anything they carry. I however will put up wioth them, cause after all when I am going or returning from sledding, realize that I in fact am paying mothing other than fuel tax and registration to "share" the road. Some people are amazing.

vail pass closed again

Vail Pass has been closed over 25 times this year. It's been extreme and the ice this spring has been especially bad.

I don't know what the solution is but if OW/OS vehicles aren't allowed to move during chain up conditions maybe there should be some sort of weather/road condition when vehicles over 12000# are not allowed to move, especially over these passes where it is just wet or even dry at the bottom and hellishly icy at the top.

I don't think it's all the fault of truckers but it certainly seems there are vehicles better suited for snowstorms at 10000-11000 feet than a semi, even with chains.

Just my 2 cents as somebody that lives here.
