700 RMK Clutching Setups

AK- thanks for the advice. I thought about it some more, and I'm going to run the helix I have with the different springs and the MTX weights and see where I'm at. If I can get all of the stuff in time for my next trip the setup will be as follows:

'08 700 RMK w/ SLP pipe
9000'-11,000'
62 Gram MTX weights w/ Green/Pink spring (going to start w/o any rivets to see where I'm at)
58-38.46 helix w/ Black/Purple (160/140) @ delrin washer

Hopefully I get a chance to test this soon. Down the road I'd like to change the gearing to 19-46, and maybe get a different helix depending on how it runs

Should I be looking at 65 gram MTX weights instead of 62 grams? I would normally run this with 10-58s to start with. I figured 10-62 because SLP says to add 4 grams to what you normally run.

I would try the 65's..with those spring pressures you want enough weight to get full shift out..might even try the 68's..i nkow with those springs 68's will get full shiftout..thry the 65s..maybe with 2 grams in the middle and 1 in the tip to start..then go from there....

How would 65 gram MTX weights with 2 grams in the middle and 1 gram in the tip (68 gram total) compare with empty 68 grams MTX's?

I'm guessing the 68's will pull harder initially and the 65's will pull more on top.

I have never played witht he 65,s but yes I would surmise they wouldnt pull as hard down low and pull about the same up high...
