I have an 08 dragon that will not go over 7500 RPMS. It seems like it is cutting out and just doesn't want to hit the power band. It runs fine untill I pin it then it sounds like it is cutting out and choking. Does anyone no what it could be?

Not knowing all the facts, like sled mileage, altitude, clutch maintenance, etc. etc, it's kinda difficult to determine the problem. If your problem started recently, you might want to take a look at your fuel filter. It's located on the clutch side of your airbox. Give us some info to go on.

It has 4500 miles it was a rental sled that I bought last year. It ran fine all year last year. It started doing this a little the last day that I rode it last year. I have rode it a couple of times this year and it was fine untill last night. It is all stock except a BMP can and pipe. I am in South Dakota running 10/60 weights. I have not done much else to the sled other than add oil/gas and change weights.

Exhaust valve clean and service... There is a good thread on this

Check compression on both cylinders (if you have to ask how... take to a local mechanic)

With 4500 mles the clutches could be worn and in need of major service/balance...
New clutch springs on the primary and secondary, belt side clearance and ofset adjusted (you can do the offset... dealer or service center needs to set clearance)

New belt if worn or frayed at all...wash/scrub belt.

Replace the bearings on the rear idlers (cheap)

Lube the driveshaft.... REPLACE the jackshaft bearing (inexpensive)

Open up the chaicase, clean it out, inspect the gears and chain, new oil.

REPLACE the fuel filter (spendy part... and no aftermarket substitutes)

Check the throttle body boots for cracking.

Clean the grond connection.

Make sure you are NOT running any ethanol fuel (E-85 etc).

With 4500 miles... you need to do the full list of maintenence in the owners manual (you can download this on the polaris website for free [owners not service manual])
