7' wide vs. 8.5' deckover trailers

7' wide vs. 8.5' deckover trailers? How well do the deckover trailers pull vs the inline trailers? Have had experience with the inlines but nothing on the deckover trailer or the trailers with the fenders inside. Would like a deckover for the overall added space and quicker loading. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I prefer the 7' wide because.......
lower load center,
less wind resistance,
you can see behind you with your mirrors,
lower ramp angles means easier loading of other things (like garden tractors etc)

I agree with Mafesto. The 7' pull so much nicer than the deckover trailers. Much less wind resistance with the 7'. I also like the 7' for going long distance. We are usually right around 2,000 miles round trip when we go west.

Pretty much sums it up, the only problem is when you want to haul more than 4 long tracks it gets pretty hard to find a inline long enough (I gave up and bought a 35' charmac after selling my inline to a buddy I ride with. Get to still use the trailer when it works that way. The best of both worlds LOL.

i like the 8.5 foot wide with the fenders inside the best. you get a low center of gravity for better towing, less wind resistence, less sway and better ramp angles. plus you have lots of room inside to go side by side with the sled and you have room to walk. fenders inside don't give any trouble with louding either.

Ok thanks guys, that's kind of what I thought I would hear. Ours is close to 2000 mile round trip also. I do like the idea of a 8.5 with the fenders inside, just always thought the inside of an inline is just lackin room.

4 people is enough in a vehicle anyway. (unless fuel goes nutz high)

Fuel IS nutz high! If you have one, it's nice to take a spare sled along when you travel as far as us flatlanders do. Can save someone's vacation.
