670HO vs. 2002rmk 700??

well...just wondering the power diff of a well set up 670 vs an 02' 700 rmk. thinking about maybe upgrading to a little newer sled and have great offers on both the 670HO and the rmk. any opinions welcome...

alot... The 700 rmk will stomp all over the 670. The 670 is a slouch. I stomped a 670 last year that had TONS of upgrades and it was piped, had a new head, porting, etc. I STOMPED him with a bone stock (exept for 1 tooth drop on the gears and perfect clutching). It was no contest, get the 700 rmk, it is a way better sled. Those year of skidoos just feal cheap anyways, you will be far better off with a poo. I own a skidoo, check my sig.

That's pretty retarded. I beat up on 01 and 02 Polaris 800's all the time with my ol 98 670, had a few mods but nothing really too special. That being said, I'd take the 02 Polaris for the chassis.

The only way a 670 would beat up on an 800 RMK is in rider skill, the 670 is nimble but with equal riders and both machines running good the 800 will wax the 670 anytime anywhere.

oops, i forgot to say what sled i was using  I beat him with a stock 1996 600 XLT, same track lengths and i caught him towards the top of the hill and went probably 20 feet higher. He accused me of track poaching so we tried it again and it was a little closer the second time but not much.

BTW, if you had a 670 beating up on 800's, I would say you are either lying or a very, very good rider! I have seen 2 or 3 of the 670's run and none impressed me.

i had a 98 670 last year and all it had in was a 151 finger track with 8t drivers and a can and it ran awsome! i put some 800s and some 700 to shame with it stomped my dad's 99 700 with twins all over the hill. good reliable sleds with bullet proof motors. i never had any problems with it ever but the 700 rmk has a way better chassis. either way they are both good sleds. a close race in my opinion.

My 700 when stock never lost a drag race to my groups' 670 or 700 Doos. Granted I always stayed on top of my clutches but it wasn't until an 800 rev was purchased that I EVER lost a drag race to the Doo portion of our group and even then it wasn't a spanking because I'd suped mine up some.

Hands down the 670. I killed 700s and even 800 polaris. all that was done to my 97 670 was slp pipes.

Unless you are 5'5" and weigh 120lbs that 670 will not perform the miracles you speak of.

Buy the Poo. Better chassis, suspension and motor IMO with much more potential.

My suggestion is to ride them both and see which one you like the best!!

Everyone has their own opinion of which is best--ya know what the say--opinions are like a$$holes--everyone has one:D.

Know it is my turn--hahaha

How come the 670's ruled in the 700 class??

Rider skill is huge in it--but so is set up--I fell that sleds set up identical for both are real close--But I give the power edge to the 670.

H20SKE...

maybe i'm really old fashion but i happen to really enjoy the s-chassi, rode an edge for a short time on a ride this year and it felt a little heavy..i'm still havin to say the 670 so far has many votes!

I would get the 02 700.
The chassis is a good upgrade to the 670 and the 700 engine is rock solid. Zero problems.

Anyone 670 naysayers here actually know what they are talking about? My 670 runs with 800's all day, and yes, rider skill is important but the 670 was a strong sled and if you know how to tune it, it is a potent machine. That being said, I'd go with the 700 RMK. Newer chassis, more aftermarket parts for the 700 and more replacement parts still available. The 670 is a very capable sled, but if the prices are comparable, get the 700. The stock power on the two was about comparable, but the fact that the 700 is 3-4 yrs newer is too a big advantage.

Not quite but if you get it dialed it just right this sled is unreal. Clutching and rider is a big part

98X rules!

I had a 98X and it was, to this day, still one of my favorite sleds, I sometimes think about gettin a used one.

Had it since new and when Polaris and Ski doo came out with there 800s in 2001, I would take them MOST of the time.

98X had great power and I liked the chassis...outdated now, but still a great sled.

Had about 5000 miles on it and never touch anything except clutching.

another vote for the 670HO I had a 98 Summit X, and that was one rip snortin engine, I was rarely highmarked by a 700 twin, doo or polaris with that sled with just some drop brackets and a MBRP can, favorite engine ever. But as others have said, if its close in price I would go with the polaris just for newer technology and ride improvements.
