670 x carbs?

anyone remember what size the carbs were on the 98 670 x? removed the ufo's that were in the sled when i bought it, the po filed the bottom of the carb slides for the ufo,s . so i need to find new ones.... thanx:beer;

thanx that was fast, would you know if its true i was told that 39-44mm carbs all used the same size carb slides the only difference is the throat diameter.... thanx

I think 40 and 44 are the same, order ski-doo slides, not aftermarket the way that the cable attaches to the slide is different between the two.

tomorrow i'm headin out of town to a place with a sled salvage yard, i was going to try to find slides there without having to buy the whole carbs, what other donor sleds could i look for that would have the same size slides thanx...:beer;

any mxz , summit , or formula with 40mm are larger carbs, pretty much all
670's are the same, but there is a number on the slide it should be a 2.0 are a2.5 are 3.0 this is the slide cut away size you need that size cut away, you may have to remove the ufo to see the number.

yup 2.5 on the bottom i'll be sure and look for that size thanx for the replies guys.....

new ones are about 40 a peice last time i looked... Why did you remove the ufo's?
Do you still have the slides with the ufo's? Might be able to trade you slides...
jon

removed them because the sled was unreal on fuel, twice as bad as most 800's.what a diiference with them removed,rode it a few times with the filed down slides in it , but was told it's really lean at light throttle and idle.yes i still have the slides and ufo's, only they have been removed...

I'd leave them on. More fuel yes but my 670's ripped with them on. To me it was worth the extra fuel.

If your convinced that you don't want them let me know would like another set for my other 670's.
To get the fuel back in check you need to lower the pilot down to almost nothing I think i am at 22's or 17.5's and 1.5 turns out on the airscrew....

I have it written somewhere.

let me know if you have the 3.0 cut outs and want to trade or sell them.
jon

jon, the cutout size i have is 2.5. the sled salvage yard i went to had some 2.5's but he wanted 155 bucks for the pair, he told me they were a 155 new a piece, so not wanting to get worked ,i told him i'll get back to him. gonna check at the shop in town and see actually what they are worth?.i'll probably end up reinstalling them, so if possible i'll get yourjetting setup from you.i've been told my old jetting was probably wrong, and i can't check what was in there because i can't find the old jets....:confused:

Let me know what you need and I will help as much as possible...
Once you get the ufo's dialed you wont use as much fuel. maybe a little more then stock slides but I do not notice much of a difference but don't calculate mileage when I ride.

jon
I pmed you...

Ufo do work on this sled, When I had my 99x I think I was running a 3.0 are 3.5 cut away in the sled. You have to grind the slide down to match that size ufo, and I was running something close to a 20 pilot. It almost been 10 years so I cant remember the exact numbers.
