I have a 98 Summit x that when i have the belt set right in the secondary clutch and i go to start it that track just wants to spin at idle, so it wont start but if i have the track off the ground it will start and the track just spins. I need help fixing this problem..asap

Check your belt deflection. You may need to loosen the motor mounts then slide the engine towards the secondary a little. You will need to check for alignment when you do this.

Buy a alignment tool or find someone with one.

The 670 likes to move around alot as well--try and get the torque mount loaded so when you squezze the trigger the motor does not pull back tor far.

If your belt is riding too high in the secondary it will drag on the primary. I think it is normal for the track to turn while at idle but it should not cause so much drag to pull the motor down much if any at idle.

With the correct belt you should be able to run the belt even with the top of the secondary or just a little higher. If it is too tight/high you can open up the secondary by loosening the 3 allen head screws which have 10mm socket size lock nuts - easy adjusment - just back all out or in the same amount.

I have tried that but it is still spinning track at idle and my belt is like a 1/8th in. down in the secondary which is wa y too much. I dont know how to fix it.

Align the clutches first, install new correct belt, set deflection, if that doesnt do it the bushing in the sliding half on the primary is bad and we'll need replaced.

Not exaclty sure how to align the clutches. But i talked to my dealer and they said i am running the right belts so it might just be that thing in the clutch. How hard is this to replace? How much will it cost me?

I checked everyhing except the bushing. I think that is the problem because it looks like the clutch isnt opening back all the way. The belt is tight bewtween the two sides of the clutch. What would cause this?
