660 kits for ProRMK?

Here's the deal: my wife bought a 2013 PRO RMK 600 this season. It was set up with a 2.5 Camo Extreme out of the box, HPS can, & Carl's Cycle clutch kit. It's a fun sled, but needs more ponies (her last ride was a modded M8 that ran very strong). I don`t expect the 6 to have the hp of the 8, but more is required. Installed a PAR 13.1 head, which helped some, but not enough.
So long story short, we are looking to install a 660 kit in the off season. Who has run them, what kit, reliability - what did you think... No one is quoting hp or torque numbers, looking for answers before building. Builders and vendors are welcome to chime in to sell me on their kit, thanks in advance.

Ive heard nothing but good things about Carls 660/685's. Im interested in one myself now that EFI is available.

A lot of seat time on a carb'ed 685 and have ridden various 660 carb versions (all Carls). They were all great. Easily take stock 800's and piped 800's at times. Would assume efi version is the same. I'm tore between 660'ing my current sled or turbo. Never ridden one in a pro chassis but I would image they would hang with 800's just like they did in the edge and iq chassis.

Fwiw my 685 threw the same weights as a ported and piped 800 from carls in the edge chassis days.

Go with the Power Addiction 660 kit since you already have their head, all you will need then are the different domes, and the cylinders/pistons. Hard for me to believe you didnt see much gain with the just the head? makes me think you may need to look into some clutching? Try putting the 800 power valve springs in it, a blue/pink SLP primary and a Black/white secondary spring. I have this set up in mine, and I just got back from northern Utah with about 2ft. of fresh and had 0 problems getting through the terrain we put these things in, and all my buddies ride turbos and 800's, so not sure why she needs that big of a power gain, but to each their own I guess.

Carls would b my choice, and maybe for next year. I spoke to Chris there the other day and he said he had exchange cylinders ready for a fast turn around time.

Look at her last ride...

Sled has SLP black /pink primary spring, 58g bellybusters, blk/wht secondary spring with a 58/40.36 helix. Does she NEED more power? Maybe not, but her last sled was pushing 164 hp, had a bunch of lightweight goodies, and a 2.5" camo extreme. Only reason she went to Polaris is she tore her rotator cuff last season, and wanted something lighter. She wasn't impressed by the 800's track record for reliability, hence the 600. A 660 kit was planned for this sled the day she ordered it...hoping it would be somewhat comparable to a stock 800 RMK. The suspension has been reworked by Z-broz including the 36" A-arms, and the weight that could come off easily has been removed. It will get a 660 big bore, just attempting to figure out who's kit will offer the best bang for the buck, and offer decent reliability. SLP is the only outfit to claim hp gains - everyone else just says "impressive", or "incredible". Not doubting the builder's abilities, but before I shuck out $3500+ for a motor kit, I want to KNOW what I'm getting for the $$$, and I want to keep my significant other happy, and interested in mountain riding.

Carls clutching is polaris black primary spring, belly buster weights, stock secondary spring, and a dual angle helix 64-40-40 and 62-38-40 and delrin washers for the secondary.

I'm running from 4000, 5500 feet, turning 8300 rpm a titanium primary spring same rate as the polaris black, 62 gram belly busters stock secondary spring using the 64-40-40 angle. With a par 13.1 head and hps can This setup works great.

Keep the belt deflection tight and spin it up to 8300.

It doesn't seem to me your running there setup?

600 if I go 660 they said I just have to add weight but I forgot to ask how much they are adding with a 660

My mistake...

It is Carl's kit, although I was mistaken on the helix angle (the 64/40.40 & 62/38.40 is the one I have. 58g belly busters recommended for my elevation and the additional weight of the Camo extreme (+10 lbs). Stock spring collapsed after two rides, replaced with the SLP spring due to availability, and it's very close to stock tension.
It does run strong for a 600, no complaints there. But coming off a modded M8 she's wishing it had a few more ponies, which is why we are looking to build a 660 out of it. Should make a good sled even better.
