I have a low milage 2024 650, 130 miles, runs fine. I ride a boost and love it, but wouldn't mind a 9r to try. 650 to 9r. Has anyone done this? A few questions to see if someone knows.
Throttle body - 650 has a different part number, but similar description.
Asm-Throttle Body,50mm,650 Part 1208674
vs
ASM-THROTTLE BODY,50MM,900, Part 1208809
Do you think the 650 one will work? $550 part. Interestingly the 850 has a different part number and I don't hear of anyone changing that out. 850 part number
Asm-Throttle Body,50mm Part 1208673
Next question. Fuel pump or fuel regulator. Once again to save money, I'd rather replace my existing one if needed with an aftermarket one.
650 K-FUEL PUMP 650 RMK INCLUDES FUEL PUMP, FILTER, PFA GASKET,3,11, Part 2211995
900r K-FUEL PUMP 850/900 RMK INCLUDES FUEL PUMP, FILTER, PFA GASKET, Part 2211994
The 850 one is the same as the 9r. I have heard I just need to change fuel regulator? Not sure what part that is.
Pipe and y pipe - planning on picking up a used one. I think around $600
Tune - any recommendations planning $300
Cylinders - polaris oem with gaskets -$1470 Looks to be one assembly is both cylinders?
Head - OEM $370
pistons rings etc - polaris oem - $720 for 2
valves - $290 for 2
Carls, burandts, and indy specialty sale a 9r kit. It looks less expensive to purchase new from polaris. Am I missing something?
Clutch kit - since I have a p-85, planning to talk to TRS if he has one. Any other recommendations? $465
I think the injectors and everything else is the same.
If throttle body and regulator work, Cost is about $4,215 and I think I'll do it. Please let me know if you have done this or any thoughts or things I am missing.
