Looking for a little help on my 07 600 carbed. I'm going to WY over xmas with some 800's and of course I'm feeling a little "inadequate." Anyone have a very good setup (clutching/jets) for 8-10000 ft. I noticed last year I couldn't carry the r's I wanted so didn't no if I needed a new spring or different weights?? Does a slp pipe or can help these sleds much? I don't have time to tune (live in IA) so reliability is most important. I guess I'm just hoping to "bridge the gap" a little with the 8's until I get one next year:face-icon-small-ton Thanks for your help.

Here is what worked on my 600. SLP Blue/Pink Primary spring, 10-54 primary weights, 58-38.36 helix and a black/white secondary spring. Main Jets are 290, needle in the middle clip, fuel screw 1 turn out , 50 pilots. Mine would hold 8200 in the Powder, 8400 or so on the trail. Same setup also work well on my 660:face-icon-small-coo

Get your buddies on the 800s drunk the night before. Its hard to ride very well with a hangover. When they screw up you can ride around them. Booze may be cheaper than a pipe.

I rode my 600 1/2 the season last year, I rode where my buddies rode. Is the 8 more fun, yes, but no need to feel inadequate.

This looks like a pretty good setup.

I ran an SLP pipe and can on my '06 with this stuff:
Drive: blk/grn with 10-58s - Team light green ran too many R's on the trail
driven: blk/wht with 52/40 .36
timing at 29* (this is pretty important on a carbed HO)
VF III
280 mains
.6 PAJ
needle in #1, idle hang and high idle speed. in #2, idle returns ok, gets loady after 20 seconds .9 PAJ's would work better
stock air box
Runs 8150 to 8200@8000ft, sounds and works better at 8300.
stock RMK gearing, 151 2.4 track

where at in iowa do you live, i am near sioux city. you can always do like me and put a turbo on your sled, that will make the 800's fear you....

Everything looks pretty good except I would drop the pilots to 45's or 40's, it will make it a whole lot cleaner on the bottom end. Also change your exhuast valve springs to yellows, that will help with your r's at elevation.

I'm from the big town of Pocahontas, IA. We usually ride 2-3 days. I think I'll probably order a new Pro in the spring. My buddy is picking one up tomorrow so I'm excited because I'll get to ride it when we come out. Love that Wyoming powder!!

Well here is some advice. The same that I told about 15,000 snowmobilers throughout the show circuit this season. DO NOT..I REPEAT DO NOT ride the PRO until you are ready to buy one. It pretty much ruins most peoples current sleds!

OK nevermind..DO THIS but prepare to spend

Three days worth of riding? Well here is what I would do..I would find a PRO to rent and ride the stuffing out of it while you are out west. $600 out of pocket expense isn't that significant above the cost of your vacation and you'll have a ball! No more wear and tear on your current buggy has some value as well. Sounds weird.....but tearing up someone elses stuff is just a bunch more enjoyable plus you will then have the absolute know if that is the direction you eventually want to go.
