Came upon this pro on the way to the box Y last thurs, had been on fire for about 30 minutes. Made me a little nervous as I was breaking in a new 12 800 pro. Snow was suprisingly good and I was quite pleased with the new ride having come off a 10 m8.

HOLY CRAP!
Can you say insurance fraud?:nono: I have seen a lot of sleds in my life, but never one like that! How do you know it was a Pro? Or anything else for that matter.:face-icon-small-con

Wait a minute here. I am confused. Why is the the primary clutch behind the secondary? And why aren't they lined up? They are at different angles, and that doesn't look like a Polaris primary clutch. Am I looking at this wrong?

It was a rental, definitely not fraud. They had 4 600's and 2 new cats. The group was flatlanders from back east. We helped them get a 1100T unstuck five feet off the trail, that sucker is a pig. I couldn't tell if it was a rmk or a pro, just what they said. I about threw up watching the sled smoldering.

We had a XP start on fire a couple of years ago, the guy who owned the sled was wanting to run, we turned it upside down and drug it down the hill, then buried it with 3 feet of snow. If we had been there when it started I give it a 70% chance we could have put it out, it would have still been a pricey fix just not a total loss.

Turn your computer screen upside down and it will all make sense to you!

The pic is upside down, Mr conspiracy theory. :face-icon-small-dis

Cause?

Could this group of "experienced" flat landers have left the parking brake on?..

Everyone was safe, a lady had been driving the sled and it apparently it had not been running right so they stopped and one of the guys jumped on the sled to see what was up, a 100 or so yards down the trail he had flames up around his legs. I think the group was from steeler country and was out west to see the scenery, novices would be an overstatement. They had made it down the trail about 14 miles so I doubt it was a park break. The group had alluded to the fact that the rental company had mentioned the sled previously had some mechanical issue, but that's hearsay, so who knows. Hopefully they took my advice to hire a guide service for the rest of their stay out west.
