6-6-1 Question?

I have been on the lookout for a new protective vest...some VERY wise ladies have steered me toward the 6-6-1 products. Specifically the core saver. I really like what I see so far....anyone using it out there? How is it working out for you?

I was sponsored by 661 for about two years and I love their products. I wore the Pressure Suit for awhile, but it was a little too bulky for me. I switched the Core Saver and loved it.

Of coure I was using it for motocross, if that makes any difference.

Even better!

If it's good for motocross that's even better! :D I can't/won't wear my tek vest on the dirtbike......so I need something all year around. Besides, with my bike riding skills, I see many falls in my future :p

I have to agree that the core saver works great for sledding. It's not too bulky, which tends to change the fit of your jacket. Vents great so you aren't sweating as much. Still gives some protection in all the critical areas including the ribs. I wore one all last season and sold them to alot of people looking for the same thing. Everyone really liked them.

Does anyone know where I can look at one in northern colorado/southern wyoming??
My wife has been looking at em, but she wants to try em on before she buys.

I've been selling the 661 stuff for years and of course it's all personal preference and what fits the best but this summer the AlpineStar Stella protective gear is becoming more and more popular. Something to look into as well.
Myself, I wear the Alpinestar prtective suit, my dad has used the 661 pressure suit for a few years now. I believe the back protection and venting is much better than the 661, however dad doesn't like the fact that my chest protection is split in the middle of the chest whereas the 661 is a 1 piece design in regards to the chest area. Something to think about? I haven't had an issue yet.

As far as the Core Saver goes, I have sold a couple, however, protecting the shoulders, elbows are important to people as well.

In all, you don't need to pick the PRO pressure suit, but maybe the COMP suit would do just as well. And the price difference is very minimal for the extra protection you receive.

Like I said, personal preference and comfort is the basis for these types of protection. There's enough brands and style's out there to fit most anyone. Try a couple before you buy if at all possible.

BTW - I was laid up for 3 weeks with a shoulder injury while dirtbiking to start the year off. I was not wearing my suit. Too much of a hurry to have fun and I forgot it was with my sled gear. Now if I could just do something about this broken foot issue....

Another thing to add, 661 has some pretty good blowout specials from time to time. When you buy one, find out whether it was ordered in as a blowout sale item or if the gear you decide on is on blowout from 661 direct. You're dealer can tell you whether or not right away. Might save ya some moola.

Try any of the top end mountain bike shops and then the power sports shops. If all else fails you can take a look at mine. I was sponsored by 661 for several years on the downhill mountain biking scene and thats all I wore.

Shoulders

Thanks for the input guys....on the shoulder issue....well the biggest problem with my tek vest is the shoulder pads, and its what I like about the core saver. It doesn't have shoulder protection. I would rather wear something separate....I find that I'm restricted by the shoulder portion of my tek vest. It cuts into my arm and my arms get fatigued by it. NOT that I'm bashing tek vests...I'm just a girl, and the gear isn't designed for girls. I've got noodle arms....... I need to take every precaution possible to avoid fatigue.
I wish there was some place that I could actually try them out....checked, everywhere is sold out:(

Just something for everyone to think about (including me)...

When Coyotegirl had her accident last season and was sliding across the rocks, she smashed her elbow and now that is the worst part of the rehab. Her broken hand is healed, but the elbow is the problem.

I'm definately adding elbow protection this season. Joint protection is a big deal in an accident.
