509 goggles

Anyone out there using the 509 aviator. if so how do you like them?
im thinking of buying some but would like some imput on them first, im kinda of skeptical being they dont really have a frame to them kinda. do they fit your helmet ok as far as air travel threw your helmet, comfort, ect, ect. any imput would be great.

thanks.

509s, in general, are the best goggles I have ever used, and I have worn about everything I know of! The Aviators are the best goggles they sell! The peripheral vision is outstanding! I have never fogged in them either! I hope they come out with a polarized lense, as their polarized lenses for their regular goggles are awesome too, especially in flat light!

i got a set set late feb and they are awesome never had curved lens before but they are the best vision ever, dont need the cold air breathe deflector either as the nose piece comes down perfectly over my shoei i will be ordering another pair soon with quick straps

The Aviator is a great goggle. I have a pair and they have never fogged up. They look frameless but aren't. Best of both worlds. Lenses don't cost an arm and a leg either. You won't be disappointed.

Hands down the best goggle out there.

They do have a frame..its just behind the lens. The field of vision is still much larger than a standard goggle

I use to carry several pairs of goggles because they would eventually fog up at some point in the day. But since using the Aviators I have cleared out the extra goggles in my pack.

Hey 'Dizz..........do you have any knowledge or feedback as how the Aviators fit the Klim helmet??

Thx.

Q

I compared a set of Aviators with the regular 509s.

Perephrial vision a bit better. Can't wait for the polarized versions to come out...THEN I'll be buying new goggles.

I have 3 complaints with mine.

1. Snow dust seems to make it's way into the goggle. This isn't a deal breaker for me, and I only see it while riding behind somebody on the trail. In the powder it's not a problem.

2. The lenses durability seem a little on the weak side. They scratch very very easily. I am on my second lens.

3. I have sent the 509 guy on here a PM about the lenses to see if they are going to be coming out with a more durable lens. I didn't ask for anything other than if they would have something else available for next season. It's been weeks and I have not received a response.

Other than that I am very happy with them and they are a good overall goggle.

I have used them on a couple different helmets but not the Klim. They seem to fit good on everything so far. Next time I get together with SKibreeze I will test them out on his Klim lid and let you know.

Hey Adam...how are the goggles getting scratched? WHile riding?

I got a solid 30 days on a pair without a mark?

I'm not on Snowest as much as before. Best way is to call 1-877-743-3509 or our online helpdesk at www.509films.com. Give me a shout and we'll get you figured out.

The scratching is entirely my fault. I have a huge duffel bag that I toss all my snow gear into including my helmet with my goggles still wrapped around them. I have done this for years and typically have not had problems with goggles scratching. I have never expected a hand out or warranty on this I simply wanted a response to my pm as to if a more durable lens is going to be available. I still feel the durability is on the weak side since I have done this for years without a similar problem.

Overall the goggles are good and I am happy with them. Replacement lenses are cheap which is nice, but I would rather have a more scratch resistant lens and not go through a couple a season. Of course I could remove my goggles from my helmet, put them in a goggle bag and stuff them away somewhere safe. But then I have to break years worth of bad habits.:face-icon-small-win

LOL

or at least throw a helmet bag over the lid and goggles before they go in the Duffle

Hey Tom

My intent was not to trash talk you or your product, but state my experience. I have PM'd you on two different occasions regarding two different matters. Both times no response. Both times I posted my experience on a thread like this one (I never started the thread). Both times you immediately responded to the thread dismissing my concern saying you don't spend much time on here anymore. I think if you spend enough time on here to respond to my posts nearly immediately, then you spend enough time to simply answer a PM. After all when you log on it tells you in the notification area in the upper right of the page.

I have also read how many guys have had excellent service and response from you. Just don't know why I don't.:noidea:

I have the same issue as mtnpull, maybe I need to start my own thread?

Bought the evolution blu ray from 509 last year now, it won't play so I went through the whole ordeal of updated my sony player only to have it still not work. Called them and sent a lot of pm's. No responses after he said they had a new supplier of dvd and he would send an updated version when they came out.

Like my helmet and goggles just not sure what the deal is? This was back in the summer/fall of '09. Still have my order number and everything. Anyone want a un-played copy of evolution? :face-icon-small-fro

for the price 509 goggles are the best by far... best fit and cost isn't too high... I've tried 2 styles of 509 and 3 different lens.. I'm really happy wearing 509 goggles and the helmets are by far the best light weight fit.. not too expensive either...

Best Goggle I have ever owned, except for the fact they scratch very easy.
I store them in a fleece goggle bag, I never need to wipe them or scrape the snow or ice off them while out riding. They never fog. But the lens do get beat up in the trees and scratch very easy. I still have the original lens in, I'm going to replace the stock lens with the yellow lens today and see how they fair.
