Regarding copyright infringment, I would simply seek Tom's blessing on the idea.

I have an "Evolution" t-shirt & also think it's a cool logo.
However, I would not get it on a tatoo simply because sled platforms change
so drastically thiat it would appear silly in a matter of years.
Picture the same scene, but with the sled being a JDX8 or an Elan, that'd be pretty
lame nowadays. Well that's the future of the current logo as well.

elan would be sweet im not even joking rowdy old school snowmobile signs with a guy riding the sled to me is funny and would make a cool tattoo.

I have the evolution t shirt and started thinking it would be a great idea for a Tat. that could be the one I was looking for. it woiuld not be so distinguished , rather subtlized and blended in with the wings and dragons on the side, yet noticeable.
I am new to this site and I am assuming that Tom is the guy who runs 509? does anyone know how I get a hold of him? Maube his sitename so I could pm. him?

I was going to get a drive chain tattoo around my arm a few years ago. But, then AC came out with DD and i just couldn't do it. I agree with Mafesto, in a few years your tat will look old school.
