500ss

anyone ever think of putting a 500ss engine in their hawk. put a head and a pipe on it and they are reliable 110-120 horse. super light, i imagine it wouldnt weigh more than the 500f.... anyone ever concentrate on getting the lightest hawk possible?

Same crank taper as 600HO.

I sold LRD a stock 600HO puck clutch that was replaced by a Comet four post.

Might be able to hit him up on here, he putt the Snow Hawk clutch on his light weight TNT project, and shelved the original new TRA.

New TRA III's go for $1,200 at a Ski-Doo dealer.

I'd buy the motor you mention just for the clutch.;)

Then ship the cylinders to RK Tec, they have a 132HP big bore for them.

So its water cooled?? if so No advantage... the motors all weigh nearly the same. a few pounds if even that arnt going to do squat..Not for the amount of hassle anyways..

the 500ss is a long stroke, smaller bore 594cc liquid cooled engine. it is the same motor that was in the 600cc sleds prior to the 600ho release. Its a good strong engine but would not be of any advantage over a 600ho.
