5 sledders lost on RE - which one of you is it?

Rode out of Columbine leaves a huge search radius. Looks like the snows is deep and bottomless up that way. Another group of guys from Nebraska were rescued north of Farwell late last week after getting bogged down, at least they were able to get a cell signal and eventually relay coords. One thing we know is if they rode out of Columbine, they are nowhere near RE.

North of Columbine. Eww. I'd hate to be stranded up there. Huge area, not a bunch of traffic, no cell service and the weather can turn on ya in a second. Very easy to get turned around and headed in the wrong direction if you don't know where you are going. Hope that they decided to stop and stay put.

bummer , hope all turns out well for thier group , can't be because of deep snow , there is none , we just got back from there doing 6 days of sledding out of S L O , it is a vast area , keep everyone posted...............

We all know that anything could happen, but I like that there are 5 of them as opposed to two guys. Hopefully they just got lost and hunkered down until first light.

I was up there yesterday. Deep stuff and the weather got nasty in the afternoon. Heavy snow and white-out conditions.

Hope they come sleddin' out this morning.

Just after you left, it dumped. 2-4' of new snow in 2 days.

Everybody should be prepared to spend the night. You never know what can happen. Yesterday Boston Racing cracked three ribs and ripped the A arm and shock off of his sled. Luckily we had a big group and 4 stayed on the mtn with Cory and 3 of us went back to the truck to get the parts to get him up and running again.

First aid and survival kits on each of my sleds. A must if you ask me.

Plan on it as it will happen no matter how good a rider you are. We put our faith in a machine and they do tend to break no matter how well maintained.

They rode out as search & rescue got unloaded. They just stopped and spent the night and were fine. They decided to stop after dark instead of fight all night. They are ok now
