5 Mountain Lions-Wyoming

Thats not the Powder Horn, scenery doesn't look anything like it

That's the thing about the net. The info I got was that they were south of Sheridan near the Powder Horn golf course. That/s the other side of the mountain.

New Mexico

I was linked to this site from another site I visit. To the OP, who told you that picture was taken in Wyoming? My best friends mother took the picture only yesterday out her living room window in New mexico. They live 15 minutes north of Farmington, NM. How did you get her picture so fast and not even have the correct location? Not flaming ya, just curious.

To the others, yes, it is a very rare site. This isnt the first siting there, but usually its only 1 or 2 maximum. Im guessing in the pic it is 2 year old cubs with their mother. they are just about old enough to go on heir own, from what i can gather after doing some research on these cats.

Anyways, happy sledding! I use to have a wildcat, but i sold it about 6 years ago and havent ridden since. kinda miss it.

edit- correction, she posted the picture yesterday to her FB, but pic was taken over a week ago I think.

Are you talking about the cat on the porch posted by Wyoming T/A in post #17 on Jan 31st?
The post that he made 6 days ago?

No, the first pic of the 5 cats. I thought she took the picture yesterday, but after talking with her son again, she took it last week, but only posted it to her facebook yesterday.

I guess I'm a hippi ... I don't know ... but I've quite honestly never understood what the purpose of "hunting" coyotes, mountain lions, prarie dogs, etc is .... Mountain lions are about 1000x more scared of you than you are of them. You could probably throw a couple rocks at that entire litter of them and they'd be high-tailing it away from you as fas as they could be.

Hell I've ran into a few of them walking my dog even and they don't even stick around to attack the dog.....

Untill they get hungry, then they are not so worried about what you are. IMO eat them first before they eat you. Mountian lion is a good meal! Not joking.

The supposed originator of the e-mail is alegedly a Cortez Co. police officer

Apperently this must be more common than we thought :face-icon-small-dis

Hmmm, maybe I should start putting a watermark in my photos... On a side note, I saw one of the pics I took of my sled on a kijiji ad up in canada a few months back.... :face-icon-small-sho lol:face-icon-small-dis

I have a whole new respect for the lion. Especailly after being stalked by one. I turned around in the single track trail and he was 20 feet behind me. I put my rifle up on him just to see him thru the scope and didn't feel to threatened. So i took a step towards him. He casually just turned around and walked off. the next morning when i was walking the same trail in the dark, it was kind of spookie.

pretty animals.
