440 sno pro advice

A friend of mine bought this 2002 440 sno pro snow cross model. It seems to run real strong up to about 8600 rpms then it just backs off a bit. It is as if it may be running out of its power band. The big problem is we can't find any information on this model, like rpm range, jetting, clutching, etc. Some one told him he may have to run high octane gas or race gas. It also has some sort of timing advance knob. If anyone is familiar with this model any kind of help would be appreciated, THANKS

i have a 99 440 snow pro it tacks out at 8800 rpms and the timing advance is so you can change according to temp and alittude i just leave mine at 0 if you advance it i would suggest running higher octane gas

440

Dunno about the 02 but I believe 8600 is right on.Try HCS on the 440 mod section. This hsould be able to get you answers.02 are pump gas 91.As far as timing.I have an 06 02 heads and timing at -2,310 jets. This is the "norm" for tuning as afar as I know.
