4 wheelers at segelsen

So I know not to many people ride there or at least I don't see to many people but a friend of mine went to segelsen last saturday and sunday to clear out all of the trees that fell so it could be groomed. The groomer came up wendsday we rode friday and it was great. Well another friend went up today and found that there was a group of about 5 jeeps or something that had completely torn up the road. Said he past them about half way up the trail and they were stuck so figured they wouldn't go any farther. This turned out not to be the case and they drove all the way to the top. They had thrown the no wheeled vehicles sign in the ditch. They had all trailered there rigs up there so I'm assuming these weren't just teenagers from Darrington having a good time or anything like that. Anyways sorry for the long post just pretty pissed that the one time it will be groomed this season most likely this trail is now thrashed. The good news is after a heated argument with them when my friend got back to his truck he called the forest service and by the time he got to the bottom of this hill there were 2 police cars waiting. I hope these ******* got what was coming to them.

You know I completely understand your frustration I just hope every effort was made to educate and work with them. All the off-road guys are fighting the same land use battles that we are and most help vote in the same people we do to help keep riding areas open. Think you would be surprised if you just talked to most Wheeler's and let them know it effects all of us , directed them to good snow wheeling spots and let them know your on there side most work with you. We just have way to little people on our side and hope everyone can step up and come together. Now saying that they could of been a group of d bags and deserved it lol

it happened over here a couple years back... tore up groomed trail not to mention running over signs and trees, dug down into the road... took his license plate and turned it into the sheriff... he ended up in court have not seen the problem since

I understand

where you're coming from too,, the problem I have is when they deliberately throw a sign to the side of the road to access a road that is marked closed to wheeled vehicles We all cross over from one sport to the next but deliberate abuse can not be reasoned with.. The best thing to do is just turn them in and not confront them at all.. Because if they deliberately throw a sign off the road sounds like they don't care too much about cooperation...

I do agree somewhat but I always try to right it first. Not to mention how many times its been one a-hole in the group of good guys, again not saying anything they did was right. But even if there was a group of ten and talking to them changed one person mind that is a step forward. I do the same with people on horses, cross county skiers and even people that vote for Obama lol

Ive wheeled up a few groomed trails back in the day, now Im the first one to get people off the trail and help. I might of even been with a few people that took down no off road vehicle signs back in high school. If someone would of just explained to me what my actions would lead to I might of learned a little quicker.

Didn't sound like they were to friendly to you either assuming you were the guy on the skidoo they just flipped off. It's just a bummer my wife and I like to go up there with the family because its generally a lot less gas to get there than anywhere else and a little harder to get into trouble up there. No crevices to fall into and pretty tough to get lost. Looks like it will be a while until we get any snow to fill the ruts in. Didn't sound like they stayed on the lower road so that might still be smooth.
