I know some of you guys don't like him (for whatever reason - aka Jeff Gordon). Anyway, nobody has ever done a 4-peat in Nascar and he continues to prove he is currently the best out there. Some might even say it is his equipment, but why isn't JR running better then? I would have liked to see Martin win and I'm a Gordon fan. But 1-2-3 for Hendrick is super impressive (where are you JR?).

I went to my first nascar race a couple of weeks ago (Pheonix). I am not a nascar fan but had the chance so I went. It was like he is in another class. No one could touch him. I wonder what those guys are doing?

I think just as much of the praise should go to Chad Knaus. He is far and away the best crew chief in nascar. It almost makes watching nascar not worth it. This team is so far ahead of everyone else it's not even funny. The chase format has really helped them though. It's no coincidence that the 10 tracks in the chase are Jimmie's 10 best tracks (aside from Talladega). I don't see anyone knocking off this team in the forseeable future. Maybe Tony Stewart once he gets another year of ownership under his belt.

They should really have a road course in the chase. Do we really need a race each at Atlanta, Charlotte, Texas, and Kansas during the chase? They are all pretty much the same track. A road course would really give the other guys a chance to cut into JJ's inevitable points lead. The only one now in the chase where anyone has a shot at making up any points on him is Talladega.

I'm to the point where I'll probably only watch 9-10 races next year. I'll watch the Bud Shootout, 2 Daytona races, 2 Talladega races, 2 road courses, and 2 Bristol races, 1 or 2 of the Dover races, and maybe the all-star race. Other than that what's the point?

Haven't you figured it out...........JR sucks.

I've always been a Martin fan, he had a great year, and it was a lot of fun to see him win five races. Hats off to the 48 team though. Not a fan of them, but that is an amazing team. Hopefully Mark can get 'em next year. :beer;:beer;

You have some good points. No doubt that Chad Knaus is awesome. It's a chemistry thing on that team. Jimmy would have won the championship regardless if it were a straight up points race (old'n days) or a race for the chase. By the way, Jeff Gordon would have won two more championships in the old format.

I agree on the tracks too...they need to put in Sonoma and get rid of Talladaga. I've been to Talladaga and it is a great place to watch a race, but anyone in the field could win and it doesn't take talent, but a lot of luck. Jimmy is really good at the intermediate tracks, and that helps him because there are so many. Maybe some day we will see more short tracks or road courses.

I'm not holding my breath. I think if Brian France had his way the chase would be 2 races each at new hampshire, california, chicago, charlotte, and pocono. That way not only would we have the safest, most boring racing imaginable but he would hit all the major markets in the country too.

Congratulations to Jimmy and Chad. That being said, I enjoy watching NASCAR but it is getting kind of rediculous how bad he has the field covered. The competition is not there anymore and the races aren't fun to watch anymore. I would rather watch a race at Talladega than another yawner at California, Texas, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, etc...... When only 12-15 of 43 cars can stay on the same lap, and only 2 or 3 can race for the lead it gets boring pretty quickly. The only driver I see that could challenge Jimmy, if he keeps his head on straight, would be Kyle Busch.

they have been unstoppable, but all this comes and goes in cycles, wonder which will become the next super team?

The answer is heat races and features and LCQ's and then a main. Except at the road courses of course and there should be more of them and more Bristols and less mile and a halfers.

Jimmy is the man....yes its a team sport and credit is due for chad and the rest of the crew. main office to the tire changers.....

as for TONY Stewert.....he is just a side kick of hendrick....all the people are from hendrick....heck he even asked hendrick for help.....runs his chas...eng...brand new testing equi....and imput from gordon, jimmy, and martin....only one he dosent care about is JR.....he sucks balls.....

only one who stands a chance is the shrub or if they change the rules....dont hate jimmy or chad because the work hard all season on the closing tracks........

It's called determination and hard work. With that said, I would have much rather watched Martin hoist up the championship trophy.
